Policy Accelerator

The Policy Accelerator supports our grantee partners to win policies that are good for people and the planet.

We lift up research, analysis, and strategies for policies that improve the conditions of low-income communities and communities of color experiencing the causes and effects of climate change. We center the leadership of community-based organizations that champion equitable climate and clean energy policies.

Programs and services available to Equity Fund’s grantee partners include:

Technical & Research Assistance – This program helps answer short- or medium-term research questions for our grantee partners that lack in-house research capacity. We pair our grantee partners with researchers with a proven track record of equitable climate and environmental analysis. Example projects have included: mapping climate vulnerabilities; analyzing population demographics around pollution sources; and completing an energy equity analysis for state agency public comments.
State & Federal Policy Coaching – The Policy Accelerator’s State and Federal Strategists provide coaching to our grantee partners that supports them to identify and overcome obstacles to advancing equitable climate policy. This could look like: strategy calls to discuss energy and climate policy; resource creation upon request; or on-demand policy, regulatory, and legislative analysis.
